About This Project

After years of considering a kitchen remodel these homeowners decided it was time to upgrade! She wanted a lighter feel to the space, and he wanted to make sure it still had some warmth to it, so we met both their needs with white perimeter cabinets and natural walnut cabinets on the island. The couple chose their veined counters to tie the colors together and added visual texture in the backsplash mosaic tile. Functionally we shifted some appliance locations to maximize storage where it was desired, like making a more useful base corner cabinet and adding a tall shallow cabinet at the end by the walkway for aprons, dog treats, and a dedicated zone for charging devices. The island grew in size while still allowing walkway space and includes water bottle storage and a space for their dear four-legged family member to eat and drink alongside them. The upgrade was worth the wait!
