Moving the opening from the family room to this kitchen allowed for better flow and a bigger kitchen for this family of four. They wanted a light feel to the space while still allowing for some contrast and depth, so the medium grey painted cabinets provide a base from which to add other tones and textures. A white quartz counter provides a nice neutral base for the marble back splash tile and the hardwood floors provide a grounding warmth and texture. Although the kitchen is not enormous, we were still able to fit in display shelves, a wine refrigerator, seating for three at the island and plenty of pantry storage. The open flow to the adjacent dining table, outside patio and family room make it a great space for family and friends to come over and celebrate many joyful occasions together.
