Restful Blue and Neutral Transitional

About This Project

As part of a whole home renovation and addition, this kitchen grew in size from its original modest footprint and took on a more central role with the adjoining great room.  The homeowners desired a calm and restful aesthetic to their new and improved home and opted for Farrow & Ball’s Oval Room Blue as the color for their kitchen cabinetry.  The other neutral tones fell into place from there, using off-white perimeter stone counters and wall treatments (including backsplash tile) and a solid wood top on the island.  Though the hood is the focal point on the main back wall, its minimalist design allows it to blend harmoniously with the surrounding walls and floating shelves.  With a view of the backyard and the sound of a waterfall, this kitchen is truly an oasis of calm.
