Light Wood Transitional

About This Project

Functionally, this kitchen had a few problems that needed to be addressed: the walking space between the refrigerator and island was less than ideal and left the users cramped, the peninsula’s stools bumped into the kitchen table’s chairs, and the flooring was different from one room to the next.  We repositioned the refrigerator, removed the peninsula, enlarged the island (with some counter for prepping and some counter at bar height for one of them to stand and read the news in the morning), and unified the flooring throughout.  Some of the homeowners’ favorite elements include the Mont Blanc quartzite counters (and the waterfall on the island) and Mont Blanc slab backsplash, Emtek sandcast bronze rustic modern cabinet hardware, LED strip lighting above the upper cabinets and the Stanisci/Bridgewood cabinet hood as the focal point opposite the family room.  The family loves the natural feel to the kitchen and is able to cook together more easily, has room to entertain and even has some empty cabinets due to the improved storage!
