This homeowner inherited the house from her parents and it needed an update as well as a functional improvement. By eliminating the center island and providing a peninsula, the clients can now move freely from their sink to the refrigerator without moving around an obstacle. The lowered wenge wood top allows the client to roll out dough for baking at a comfortable height and the easily accessed microwave drawer enables her popcorn-eating children independence while she is busy cooking.
